A Little Distracted

This is the pic of a busy as f$*%ck working mom/entrepreneur who neglected to realize it was her birthday, (other the all the festivities 🎉🎁 and champagne 🥂 🥂) and let her license expire... only to arrive in dallas, for a 3️⃣ day trunk show and can't rent a 🚗 ..... luckily it's @uber to the rescue!  ALSO NOTE, I haven't lived in the west village in five years! My Glass Overflows

Never would I have dreamed when I adopted Julia, that my path to motherhood would define me in so many layers of being a mom. The definition of motherhood, isn't one dimensional. I don't think you can measure the layers, definitions, terms, roles, & jobs a mother does. All I know is that this little wild ginger has my heart ❤️The whole damn thing, and if there was more, she would plow through it ➡️➡️she is the root of my inspiration. Julia's Mikvah

Jewban refers to small community of Cuban Jews 🇨🇺 ✡️That's my family. Both my parents were born in Havana, Cuba and came to America shortly after Castro came into power. I relate strongly to both parts of my heritage, and why I am raising Julia to be bilingual. Growing up miami was a second home to my brother and I. We ran around around the beaches before the Delano, was the Delano it is today, eating Cuban sandwiches for lunch while my grandparents worked selling "Shmattes" across the street on Collins Ave. Every Jewish holiday we would split between NYC and miami. 4 Years Ago...

4️⃣years ago Labor Day weekend, I was advised by my adoption attorney to "think things over"...I had been struggling with infertility for nearly two years, and met with her just before the long weekend for some information on costs and process of adoption. I actually forgot that this weekend was the anniversary of that decision, until my interview with @vikavickyvictoria from @jckmagazine on my drive up to the #Catskills for the weekend. It still makes me giddy to share my beautiful journey to motherhood. Even more amazing is sharing that after so much pain and sadness, I actually got julia➡️in just 8️⃣ days.  I know it's nuts, but I received a call on a Monday from a potential birthmother.
