“Life is a gift. I eat a healthier diet, I go on more vacations, I am more open with my feelings” "I am a better listener. I am more goal orientated, more patient, and I have more humility than ever"

I also learned to rap!! "It's your DUTY, to check your BOOTY!" which she performed at a Colon Cancer event called Laughter is the best medicine. I love to just start rapping to anyone who wants to listen….

On February 22, 2012 Elesa was diagnosed with Stage III colo/rectal cancer. Still just in her late 40's, "

I knew my life would never ever be the same. It took chemo/radiation, two surgeries, loving supportive
family and friends, then more chemo and above all my faith in God to get through the hell"

It changed my life in so many different ways. It changed how I
looked at my family, my kids, my husband, my siblings. It changed how I viewed life, not as a whole but on a daily basis. It changed my perspective on LIFE, for now I know that no matter what we are dealt with here on earth there is always something to be grateful for. It changed me physically, I lost so much weight during chemo, then gained it all back to a healthy weight. I changed my eating habits to reflect a more clean, organic diet. It changed how I look at every person I ever encounter, and I treat people with more love, more respect.

So now have been an advocate for screenings, and helping others....So you all heard it, everyone ITS YOUR DUTY, TO CHECK YOUR BOOTY!
