If someone were to ask me what's my favorite part about owning a business, I would say... being a mom. You would think the two have nothing to do with each other, but in fact, they have everything to do with each other.
My Story started as a simple ring I made for myself when I became a mother through adoption. A single mom through adoption. A title I wear proudly. Raising Julia alone and being a full time working mom, I stayed in most weekend, just she and I, savoring lost moments from the past work week.
As My Story started to grow and I knew I had something special, I went out on my own. Building a business on my own, I was free to work when I wanted, how I wanted, and from wherever I wanted. In the park sitting on a bench watching Julia play with her friends or at the beach in Miami. Even sitting on a farm in PA watching her horseback riding lessons. I can leave at 3pm to pick her up from Brownies, or work way into the night after she has fallen asleep (I am much more of a morning person and that night night... generally is more juice than work, but you catch my drift).
So there you have it momtreprenuers... motherhood is what motivates me to work hard. It gets me up in the morning and keeps me going when I am tired and sick of traveling.
I love making things that people wear to celebrate their loved ones. I love getting messages about what stone combinations go best for their kids' birthdays. I pinch myself... and can't believe I am that lucky that I can make something awesome, that someone want to wear everyday. The best part about it is that I get to do it while being a present, happy and dedicated mom.
So really, this is a huge thank you to all of you who love me, buy from me, support me in other ways than likes, DMs, and just sweet notes of cheer.
